After dealing with so many sketchy dealerships in CT, Bowens was a breath of fresh air!! I brought in my Focus RS for a leaking timing cover (warranty work) and they promptly fixed the issue. I also had a check engine code and the repair for that would not be covered under warranty and they were not pushy at all about making me get that work done (this code does not effect driveability just emissions). I ended up choosing to save the money to try to fix it myself. They were patient and answered every question I had. I really have not had a dealership experience like this before. Highly highly recommend! This is the ONLY dealership I will trust bringing my car back to. I live over an hour away and it was well worth it to bring my car here
One star rating only because I can't choose no stars. Unbelievably horrible experience. I purchased new $65,000.00 2019 F250 Lariat crew cab in July from a dealer in Massachusetts. It has 3,700 miles. I'm hearing what could be a knock from the lower engine. I went to this dealer because they are local to where I work and wanted to give this smaller dealer an opportunity to service my truck in the future. All of this was stated to them when I arrived. Here's how I was received...…..First, no one could be bothered to even listen to the engine. Second, I was told (in a dismissive manner) BY THE PRESIDENT, STEVE BOWEN "If the engine is knocking and needs to be replaced we would send you back to the dealer you bought it from because we don't make any money on engine replacements and if I wanted someone to look at the truck to diagnose the knock to schedule an appointment in a week or two". This is their idea of Ford customer service. What a joke! I've contacted Ford directly an open a case to document my experience with this dealer.
Not only is Bowen's Garage one of the oldest dealerships in the country. They maintain the honest, direct, no pressure sales that could only be found in the 60's. If you want a good deal, without the high pressure sales environment, Bowen's garage is for you.
Bowen's Garage is the most honest dealership you will ever find. I know that my service will be done thoroughly, professionally and as quickly as possible. As a woman, it is comforting to know that I will never be "ripped off" and I can trust the entire staff to take good care of me and my vehicle.
I purchased a new car from Bowens Garage in January of 2013. Jonathan and Stephen Bowen were very knowledgeable about the car I was interested in and it was a very comfortable transaction. This was the first time that I purchased a car at Bowens and it was very different from any other dealer I have been to. No pressure, trust and integrity. It is a family run car dealership that treats its customers as family. I see from the posted labor rates that it would be hard to find a fairer price. I would buy another car at Bowens and when I need vehicle service I'll be sure to check them out also.
My wife has been doing business with Bowen's garage since she owned her first car, 1966 Mustang. She has been satisfied with the staff and work done on the cars she has had since then. I have been doing business for more than 20 years and have been more than pleased with the staff and service. When I call concerned about something dealing with the car, many times I immediately get Stephen Bowen. I don't get an answering tree that requires much time to get someone who knows something about the car. Stephen and his workers know the cars well and can answer all my questions to my satisfaction. Twice I have been traveling and have noticed something I was not sure about that showed up on the dashboard or a noise not normally heard. I called Bowen's Garage, got Stephen immediately and he answered the question immediately. How is that for service. I have no intention of changing dealers or having other dealers work on my three Fords!
Surpassed expectations on warranty repairs done on a vehicle still under warranty. Very quick responses via email and worked directly with Ford to identify and repair a faulty part which caused unexplained stalling.
